Muhammad Asif Karim

CEO/President

Muhammad Asif Karim is the President and Managing Director of Greenways International Inc. He is a seasoned Urban Land Developer, Entrepreneur, and Industrialist. His business operations span and he derives his expertise from South Asia, the Middle East, and North America. He is the moving spirit behind this innovative business concept of exploring African Continent’s as yet underutilized agricultural potential, developing agriculture support infrastructure, setting up value addition industries, and providing contingent commercial and social services. Farming is in his blood stream, as he belongs to a generation of progressive farmers in the Indian sub-continent.

Muhammad Asif Karim is President of Mubarik Group: Real Estate Developers a prestigious company, operating in Pakistan since 1974, offering services in planning, development, building construction and project management. The company has completed over 700 building construction, housing scheme design cum development and town planning projects.

Muhammad Asif Karim is also General Manager/Director in Anmol Distillation Water Supply LLC, based in Ajman, United Arab Emirates, with business spanning throughout UAE.

Atta Ullah Khan is a senior urban planner with global experience spanning over three decades on progressively responsible positions with provincial government, metropolitan development agency, international consultants, donors and research institutions. He has proven expertise in land use planning, socio-economic and spatial urban growth monitoring, analysis and forecasting. He has been a team leader for preparation of urban policy plans including area structure plans, municipal development plans and sector plans. He has also worked as project manager of a donor funded urban upgrading programme, and as a commissioned researcher of global urban research projects.

Atta Ullah Khan is a Canadian of Pakistani origin, having Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Planners Pakistan and a member of the Africa Study Group of Canadian International Council, Ottawa, Canada. He has attended numerous professional development trainings and is an active participant of seminars/ conferences at University of Ottawa, Carleton University, and International Development Research Centre, amongst others. He is dedicated and committed to efficiency and effective results with strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

Manzoor Ahmed Chowdry

Manzoor Ahmed Chowdry has over past twenty years’ experience of working in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Canada in various agriculture related fields. Currently, in Canada he is engaged in a private business of growing annual, biennials and flowering shrubs for domestic Canadian market as well as for exporting to USA. In his professional capacity he provides technical support and leadership to the workforce attached with the business. He is an expert in hydroponic culture and thoroughly well versed with operating greenhouse business from sowing of seeds to flowering and managing exports to overseas markets.

An MSc (Hons.)in Agriculture from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan, he has worked in Agriculture Advisory role in Pakistan, as Landscape Consultant in Saudi Arabia, and currently in Canada as Landscape & Orchard Management Specialist. Included in his current professional responsibilities are as Partner of Malhotra Greenhouse Inc. (Canada) production management of Gore Garden Nurseries in Ontario and Landscape Consultancy to residents. developers and builders in Greater Toronto Metropolitan region.

Mr. Chowdry possesses qualities of good leadership and ability to develop and manage all stages of agricultural farming operations right from virgin land down to marketing of farm produce. He has planned, designed and physically worked on a number of agriculture and agro-forestry projects for the local farmers to boost their income. He is also good researcher having produced results in the past in various fields of agriculture, Le. crop management, plant nutrition, and nutrient management in soil, hydroponics culture and for the management of natural resources. He is also a specialist in Landscape Management contributing to raise the aesthetic beauty of residential environment through his business operations in the Ontario province of Canada

He has vast experience of working with various national and international NGOs to improve the standard of life for the farming community. He is determined to capitalize on his life experience while working with all the stakeholders interested in farmland development in the target countries. He is definitely all out to demonstrate his skills in developing barren land and to attract further foreign investment for the regional prosperity of African countries.

Muhammad Arif

Mohammad Arif is a technocrat with background in Chemical Engineering and extensive experience in management of industrial production and business operations in Pakistan, Middle East and North America. He is a Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin. He has had extensive training, education and experience in management of chemical, oil, food and beverages industries and laboratory operation/set up. He is an expert in extending business development consultancy in food processing, soft drinks and bottled drinking water industry.

Mohammad Arif obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Punjab University- Lahore, Pakistan in 1990. He also obtained Certification in Project Management foreign University of Ottawa, Canada. He is a globally trained professional having attended courses in Total Quality Management from Lahore University of Management Sciences, and numerous training/ seminars exposures in UAE, Italy. UK, Germany, Ireland and Canada under the aegis of Pepsico International.

He has had extrusive experience to run and managed Oil Refinery and then Sitara Chemical (chlore alkali) industries till 1998. Mr. Arif developed, reviewed and implemented procedures for safe and pollution free plant operations and supervised multifarious maintenance jobs. He was amongst core technical staff when Sitara Chemical was awarded 5th International Europe Award for Quality in 1993.

For the next almost two decades, Mr. Arif was associated with Punjab Beverages Company Ltd., the regional Franchisees of Pepsico International as a Quality Assurance/Operation Manager. He did many projects including PET Blow molding. Aquafina bottled water, Injection molding, bottling filling plants, carbon dioxide manufacturing unit and energy plant It was through his dedicated contributions, amongst others, that Punjab Beverages Company Ltd., was bestowed many regional and international Quality Awards.

Since 2008, Mohammad Arif is Business Director of 2257739 Ontario Inc., a Canadian Corporation in Ottawa, Canada. It is an enterprise operating in retail and consultancy for water/food related compliance in the Canadian Capital Region.

Mohammad Arif is a fine self-motivated person, highly organized, dedicated and creative with strong communication and interpersonal skills, always willing to embark on challenging assignments. He is the mainstay of Greenways International for the company’s prospective industrial sector ventures in Africa.

Kamran Abbas

Director

Currently resident of United Arab Emirates, of Pakistani origin, Kamran Abbas is a capital markets, financial services, and insurance industry professional. He has deep insight and hands-on experience of these sectors spanning over two decades, covering Middle East and the South Asian markets.

A graduate in Economics from University of Karachi, Pakistan, Mr. Abbas had started his career with a global company. Fuji Film (Pvt.) Limited, as Senior Sales Representative. He then moved on to management positions in corporate brokerage houses in Karachi, firstly with Intercom Financial Data Services Pvt. Limited as their Branch Manager, and later with Salman Services (Pvt.) Limited as manager of independent office, thereby gaining a decade long experience progressing from marketing to corporate brokerage. His next foray was with a Corporate Member of the Karachi Stock Exchange catering to the market needs of both institutional and retail clients namely, Ace Securities (Pvt.) Limited as Executive Director.

Merely having worked for a decade for others, Kamran Abbas then set up his own company, United Capital Securities (Pvt.) Limited, for providing securities brokerage services, getting it registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and as a Corporate Member of the Karachi Stock Exchange (Guarantee) Limited. There, as Chief Executive Officer and Nominee Director of the company, responsible to conceive, formulate and implement all budgets. business plans and polices after the approval of the Board of Directors, he led the company to become one of the top 10 brokers dealing in retail business. Early introduction of On-line Trading System for clients, and SMS system for instant confirmation of every execution were amongst other hallmarks of the company. A membership card of the Karachi Commodity Exchange was also bought. Mr. Abbas is CEO of that entity as well. He has been appearing regularly on TV channels and Radio programmers in their Business Segments as Senior Stock Analyst. He is also CEO of a major construction company, “Tammar Associates Pvt. Ltd., active in Pakistan

Since the onset of current decade, Kamran Abbas is holding the lead position of Managing Director at Al Wasl Insurance Brokers L.L.C, an insurance brokerage company based in UAE and operating in UAE, Pakistan and Malaysia in direct insurance and reinsurance business. Here, while managing a team of 20 sales executives, Mr. Abbas has penetrated in the UAE market, personally having developed corporate clientele for the company. His other strengths include deep knowledge of the insurance industry and the regulatory regimes of UAE.

Mirza Mubarak Ali

Mirza Mubarik Ali is a Civil Engineer by education and a respected entrepreneur, builder and contractor. His business operations cover Pakistan and the Middle East.

Mirza Mubarik Ali presides over Mubarik Group of Companies, a conglomerate of ten companies, which evolved from his initial undertakings in building construction starting from 1974. He is Chief Executive (Projects) in the Group’s lead entity namely Mubarik Group: Real Estate Developers a prestigious company, operating in Pakistan since 1974, offering services in planning, development, building construction and project management.

Indrani Banerjee is an Accountant with global designations, experience and expertise. She is a Chartered Accountant from India, a Certified General Accountant of Canada and a Certified Public Accountant of the USA.

She completed her Chartered Accountancy designation in India at a very young age together with the highest general Insurance and legal qualifications in India. Her experience spans over the Insurance Industry, the Steel Industry and the complicated Petrochemical Industry.

She started her career in National Insurance Company Limited, one of the four government insurance companies in India. She had been instrumental in establishing new set of rules and regulations by creating an Internal Audit Manual that magically improved the Fund transfer performance of the company. This improved the Investment Portfolio which finally brought huge profits. She also represented the company before the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals), won the company case and brought a refund of about Indian Rupees thirty million.

Thereafter she moved to the Steel Industry sector under the Ispat India banner, a company owned by the Steel Tycoon Mr.Laxmi Narayan Mittal. The company diversified from Steel to Textile to Power and consolidated the Steel Industry with Forward and Backward integration. In addition to her financing functions, Indrani was solely responsible for the Risk Management of the entire Group. She handled her portfolio so well that the company did not suffer any financial loss from accidental and contingent events during its Project stage or Operations.

Her dynamism and farsightedness then landed her in Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd., the biggest Petrochemical Company in Eastern India. She was again the main pillar injecting Finances to the Project at the required timings, dealing internationally with the Financial Institutions of the world. She was also the Chief of Insurance for this big project. Specialists and Technical experts from all over the world came down to India to establish the biggest state of the art Petrochemical Plant, a marriage of technology from Toyo-Japan, Daelim-Korea, Soros Group-USA and much more. Indrani could not find Risk Management Insurance protections within India that perfectly suited her requirements. She treaded through the big international market, interacted with Insurance giants like Swiss Re, Munich Re, Allianz USA, Commercial Union-UK and finally stitched a tailor-made Insurance Package that perfectly fitted to the requirements of the company. These were complicated policy coverages, taken first time in India, a starting point to the Insurance magical covers.

All through her busy professional tenure in India, she took a passion in teaching Finance, Tax and Insurance in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India. She also excelled as the Head Examiner. Taxation in the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and a paper examiner of B.Com in the Calcutta University.

In 2001, Indrani immigrated to Canada and was soon absorbed in the Canadian culture. Her talents and expertise were recognized very soon She was working with medium sized Steel Company and started learning more about the North American Financing and Accounting Rules and Regulations. She completed The Certified Public Accounting, the highest Accounting designation of the USA Thereafter she completed the Accounting designation in Canada, the Certified General Accounting designation.

Today she is a successful Tax and Finance practitioner in North America. She is an expert in start to finish project portfolios till they turn into operations.
